Palazzuolo sul Senio (already Palazzolo di Romagna, Palazol in the Romagnalo dialect) is an enchanting village in Mugello in the heart of the Tuscan Romagna. Palazzuolo sul Senio is a place to find again the emotions of a life lived in harmony with nature. A broad choice of sport and naturalistic activities keep the rhythm of tourist days. Palazzuolo sul Senio has been awarded with the title of "Italian Ideal Village" by Airone magazine and the EEC, becoming, furthermore, permanent seat of the annual prize-giving. During 2004 year it has obtained the environmental certification ISO 14001, which proves the perfect balance between man and nature.
Palazzuolo organizes every year an extensive programme of fairs, feasts and events that will enrich the stay of all who come here, to the place of harmony, for a vacation of nature and relaxatios.

Sport activities

The Municipal Administration of Palazzuolo sul Senio in collaboration with the Compagnia Escursionistica Toscana (Tuscany Excursion Society), organizes daily guided tours to give visitors the opportunity to learn more about the territory and spend their time in direct contact with wildlife. Tours are organized following the ring signs marked on the trail map, which can be purchased at the tourist office and in all tour operators. The ring signs indicate the difficulty and practicability level of the trails (trekking, mountain bike and horse riding). The villages along the route are chock-full of history, art, and natural attractions. Here you can also enjoy the typical recipes of Tuscany gastronomy and local at the “agriturismi” (country guest houses)
